After I had my stereo installed, it would work for a while, and then after about a day, the back speakers (which are plugged into the amp) would start to cut out. The sub would continue working, but the speakers would stop. If I PUSH on the face plate of my deck, it would fix the problem. I took the car back to Circuit City and they put in a new deck thinking it was the deck. The guy also told me he looked at the amp and said one of the speaker wires was touching another wire or something and that was causing the deck to ground out or something like that. Ok.. so he fixed it according to him. Well.. its still doing the same thing. I have to push on the lower right side of my deck to make the problem go away, but it can come back as soon as I stop pushing on the deck. Then... the sub started cutting out the other day... so I had NO audio coming from the back speakers or sub.
Anybody have any ideas on things to look at to fix this? Its kind of dangerous with me driving around paying more attention to pushing on the deck face than to the road.

Check all your wires for touching. If that's not the case, then I don't know what to tell you. But I wouldnt trust the best buy guys anyway really.

What I dont understand is how PUSHING on the deck face fixes the problem of wires touching on the deck......

you just push real hard and it will get the wires to shift slightly, letting go of the deck releases the force on the wiring.
seriously though find someone else to double check everything, i won't say all big box retail installers are crappy but a good portion are
good luck
i resent that statement^^ i work at Best buy and i can install almost anything with no problems...any way there are a lot of things that could cause these problems...one speakers grounding out will make all of them turn off so check that at every place possible. Speakers wired incorrectly can cause this....a bad amp...some type of loose connection. I dont see how pushing in the HU helps out unless the face is not making contact with the HU. Did he really change the radio? any way just go back have em check it out, is there another CC around? i dont know about CC but at best buy if you get something installed you can go to any bestbuy to get it checked out. Maybe the next CC has a better installer....
