Viper Remote Problem
Wednesday, May 16, 2007 5:07 PM
So yea, I have a viper paging alarm system, its 6XX model. Anyhow the remote has the two way paging lcd screen thingy, but the problem is that when ever I input a command (lock, unlock, trunk etc) the remote doesn't respond to that command. The car will unlock or lock but the remote makes no noises and the always shows the system as unarmed.

Anyone ever encoutered this and short of buying a new remote what can I do?

Well Tried reprogramming, remote still shows nothing and now the unlock button both locks and arms and disarms and unlocks. No other buttons work

Sounds like a bad remote.... have you reset it?

Also, is the paging function turned on?

What remote do you have? Is is this one?

If so, to toggle on and off Paging mode, hold the Program button in the back, and within 5 seconds, press the * button.

I'm trying to see if you can reset the remote... more then likely you'll have to unplug your car's battery for about 20 mins to reset the main unit.
