I just need to know how to get the window cranks off of a 1999 cav, I've got the rest of the panel just dangling there
i bent an old knife and use that to pop them off. you can get a tool to remove them from autozone/advanced auto, etc for like $5
If you try to separate the panel from the crank as much as possible and look between them, you should see like a silver horseshoe shapped pin holding the window crank on. You have to push that off. Some people can do it with a knife or as said above, a tool from Autozone would be like $5, it's a "U" shaped metal peice that can slide between the panel and crank to push the pin off. Kind of difficult to explain but once you do it the first time it'll never be as hard.
You can use a rag to get it off as well. Get it in there deep and wiggle it back and forth.
hook shaped pick tool is great for popping "oh @!#$ clips"....just pull slowly or that bastage will pop off and fly across the bay...hence term "oh @!#$ clip"
i use a small alan key, just do it slowly or it might take your eye out! same thing with the tool be careful cuz it will take flight!
Doesn't fly with cloth or a sock. Seriously, just run it through, it gets caught up in the material. Easy as cake.

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
I used a fork to get mine out. It gives you a little room to work with because the handle part isn't completly up against the panel.
