Think my amp has an internal short

Hey all.

I bought a used MTX amp to power a sub off ebay a few years ago, and it had been running fine.

Over the winter, it stopped working and I noticed that the fuses on the amp had blown. I replaced the fuses and turned on the car, not a sound came out (of the sub) and it blew the main fuse at the battery.

Also, when I had my speakers installed properly at a shop, they adjusted the gains on the speaker amp, and I found the speakers were drowning out the sub, so instead of turning down the speaker gain i just cranked the sub gain.

I think the result of all this is i toasted my sub amp, form what I've been reading on Google.

But I don't know my electronics, and I know you guys do. Does it sound like I've diagnosed this problem correctly? The wiring into the amp looks fine. Also, the amps ground to a distribution block to the same point on the car. the other amp (for the speakers) works fine.

Thanks
- Brandon
