This seems to be a fairly common topic, and I've learned quite a bit from the other posts about subs. Basically Kicker subs have somewhat poor sound quality, but very good volume. Now, if I do go for the Kicker subs (planning on getting 2 12" for whatever brand I get) then is the added volume worth the loss of Sq or is the Sq loss barely noticeable. And aside from that, how would the infinity subs compare to kicker? Pros, cons...that kind of stuff? Thanks
i have 2 12" mtx thunder8000 subs for sale... but not sure what they're like comparted to kicker and others. ive never hooked these up., but ive heard someone elses. they can hit VERY! hard. sounded accurate, got pretty deep...
also, may i suggest Elemental Design subs. ive heard nothing but great things for them!!! and they dont cost an arm and a leg other other big name brands.
but back on topic... i wouldve suggest getting the subs you want, then the amp that would best power them... but, since you already have the amp (according to topic) in order to know what subs, they'll need to know the specs of your amp. FYI... then the audio gurus will be able to help you out.

I have 3 13kv3 subs d2 by elemental designs. They are very accurate in my huge ported box. And have enough power to shake just about everything on my car down to the tires. I have had the installed about 9 days now. And ed came out with a new sub thats killer plus had a really good price so now om selling the 13kv.3's. Plus with ed you get a 5 year fully transferable warranty.
Yea, the main reason I got my amp is because it was cheap and I already had these 8" pieces of crap home stereo subs I wired into the amp for a total of 3 OHM when my amp is 400 at 2 OHM, so right now it's ok, but I definately want something bigger, hence why I'm looking for 2 12". I already have a kicker amp and I'm prone to obsessing over single brands in my electronic stuff, so I would normally get kicker subs, but I don't know, the sound quality of these 8"s I've got right now suck and I don't want my future ones to suck as bad as or anywhere near these ones. But yea, it's a toss up, Infinity refference, or Kicker CompVR. I'm leaning towards the Infinity. But maybe I could also state the genre of music I listen to. Anything from Korn to Rammstein to techno/trance, evanescence on RARE occasion, LP, And some rare hip hop/rap. So basically everything but country. Oh, one more question, would I notice a difference if I were to go to 15"s instead of 12"? Thanks
Lol, I shop online so much I honestly never thought of that, I should have done that when I checked out the difference between the 6x9 and 6.5 speakers. I'll probably drop down there tonight. Thanks.
i found that my old kickers sounded really good and clear but wernt loud enough. not nearly enough power. but i also bought the cheap ones.
