go with the memphis. they will work better together being the same brand IMO. Plus the warranty is always good

everyone on here is gonna have there own opinion on what sounds better to them. i personally have the Memphis PR series subs. (2-12's powered by a Alpine 800 watt amp) and i think they sound awsome. best thing to do is go to your local audio stores and see what sounds best to you. then wiegh the pros and cons of service and warrenty and also sound quality. hope this helps.

ok three idiots in a row.
1 What brand they have has no bearing on how well they will do with each other. Wattage power handling those type of things do.
2 just what makes the Jls have better quality? Build materials what? You mean sound quality? Thats subjective to the user unless you have it on the RTA
3 MTX 9500s are not comparable to a w7 really. Its a very overrated woofer. Never seen any good numbers out of them and i prowl alot of audio boards where everyone has run everything. .
go take yourself a listen to a w3 and see if you like it. power wise you will be ok and as far as loudness goes you will probably be about the same.

check the warranties on almost every audio brand ive seen you only get a 1 year or 90 day warantee if you actually install it yourself. you generally only get the 2 or 3 or more year warantee when an authorized dealer installs it.

yeah i bought it from an authorized dealer here and had them put it in so i could have the three year warranty. memphis has a 3 year warranty but jl has a 1 year

wow.. this thread shows all the reasons that i avoid JBO Audio/Electrical......

Nate and Jason set aside (Seth, you're just a douche anyhow ), I have seen nothing but uneducated BS posts... let me clear a few things up before someone takes some of these posts seriously, and gets the wrong impression of things...

1. IF YOU HAVE NO PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH SAID PRODUCT, DO NOT WRITE A REVIEW OR RECOMENDATION...PERIOD.

2. UNOATH: Brand matching has nothing to do with sound quality or "how well things work together". With that said, some brands make some things better than others. I wouldn't personaly run Cadence subs, but I'll be damned if I ever turned down one of their amps. CDT amps? meh, definately better out there for the money but their components are EXTREMELY hard to beat in any level of product. and Pioneer makes great Head units, but I personaly realy would steer away from most of their speakers and subs and amps (with the exception of their high end stuff, a lot of people don't realize what Pioneer has going for them in their higher level products!!)

3. KOBRAH: have you listened to both? have you run each of the subs in question? if so, in their spec built boxes? with their recomended power? in the same car? i realy HATE when people run off at the mouth without ever auditioning, owning, installing, or experiencing the products they are talking about.. especialy with no explanation.. "jl is better quality" why dont you tell us WHY it is better quality, or tell us did you mean sound quality or build quality?

4. MATT SCHRAMM: Again, you most likely have no experience with anything JL, and if you do, it was probably not set up right, not installed right, not powered right, or you have nothing to compair it to, or any perameters to base your opinion on other than price... yes, everyone agrees that JLs prices are high, but so isn't their dedication to providing the highest sound quality possible, and so isn't the build quality of their products... ALSO, saying an MTX 9500 is better than a W7 is retarded...AGAIN WITH THE COMPARISONS OF "BETTER" WITHOUT REGUARDS TO WHY?!!?!? BETTER QUALITY? MORE OUTPUT? BETTER SOUND QUALITY?!?!?! the only one of those 3 comparison points that an MTX 9500 MIGHT be better than a W7 in is output... and i doubt that... and even if in their spec built boxes, with their desired power provided cleanly from a decent amp.... the W7 is an SQ oriented sub that can get damn loud... hold on lemme say it again...SOUND QUALITY DRIVEN PRODUCT that you are most likely comparing for SPL purposes..... god damn people.... and on top of all the blatant ignorance your post emited, YOU PROBABLY HAVE NO REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE WITH THE W7(THAT THIS GUY DIDNT EVEN ASK ABOUT), THE MTX 9500(WITCH AGAIN, THIS GUY DIDNT EVEN MENTION) OR THE MEMPHIS M-CLASS(WITCH YOU DIDNT EVEN MENTION EVEN THOUGH THIS THREAD WAS OPENED FOR ADVICE ON THAT SPECIFIC SUB.

5. WOJO: thank god someone said something of inteligence...

6. NATE AS WELL AS JASON: see what I said about Wojo.... you guys are 2 people on this forum that bring me some piece of mind, knowing that JBO has some very knowledeable people in the A/E forum giving sound advice. I commend you guys for being honest, and somewhat unbiased when it comes to helping people pick things, install things, wire things, and set things up correctly!

7. CHRIS HARDEN: he didn't ask about either of those subs, but congrats, trio's aren't too shabby

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn

yeah im pretty impressed with the treo 12. the sound on it is great and to be honest if i could afford a w7 and the amp to push them i would have went that route. i have heard a w7 in a vehicle and the sound in that was simply amazing.
