Ok, I'm installing a voltmeter and an oil pressure gauge in my car. I got the voltmeter running properly, but I'm having trouble with my oil pressure gauge.
1. Do I NEED to use the sender that came with it?
2. Where do I tap it?
I currently have it wired to the oil pressure sensor, and the gauge isn't reading any pressure.
The gauge is Autometer. I need help ASAP please. Thanks!

what kind of motor do you have in your car? i installed an oil pressure gauge on my ecotec. all i had to do is run a wire from the gauge to the sending unit, then buy an AN line from the unit to the side of the head. there is an allen head plug all i did was unscrew it and screw in the line. make sure all the fittings are teflon taped and check for leaks. also when you buy a line, buy one that is pre made, not one that you have to cut and put ends on yourself, i bought one of those and the fitting came off which caused my motor to lose all the oil and blow up. given the steps above are for an ecotec but there should be a port on the head of your motor.

I've got the 2.4 in my car
well then i can't tell you exactly where you can find a spot but there should be a plug or something that you can unscrew and thread a line in. or find where the stock oil prssure sensor threads into and t off of it or replace it all together.
