Battery power.

how much power does the stock alternator push out? because i was readin somewhere that if you put in a system you will prolly have to upgrade the electrical system because the stock one isnt powerful enough.. i have a 2001 cavalier and im lookin to put in 1 power acoustik FUBAR 12 W sub powered by a boss audio gt1500 amp. it looks like its gonna have 800 watts rms, and im wonderin if that if gonna run my battery down quick, or if its gonna blow anything. well, anything would be helpful, so if you kno somethin tell me. thanks

Yeah, 105amps should support it, but try doing the "big three" upgrade, it may help with dimming of headlights and make your electrical system that much more efficient...do a search, there a write up on this forum about doing it, and if you want you could get a yellow top battery or something to help with power delivery because i hear those a much better.

I'm runnin' about 1000 watts rms on the stock electrical system and my car dims really badly... Yellow top and big 3 are in my near future

eh big three can be done for like 10 bucks... I did mine with 2 guage wire for like...5....since my dad gets wire from work free...but yeah, its not expensive at all, and you maybe really notice a difference if experiancing dimming at all.... You just need like...5 or 6 feet of heavy wire, and some connectors and a fuse for between the alternator and battery...really simple...look it up

I was running a nine.1 that puts out about 1400 watts at 14volts. and a nine.2 that was putting out 130 x 2. No big 3 and a fairly old battery. No extreme dimming atall.
