stereo problems

I have a panasonic head unit and im runnin 2 mtx 4500 subs and when i play some bass music and turn it up real loud the cd skips but when i turn it down a little bit it plays normally does anyone know why its doin this?

ok how would i fix this? and i though clipping was when u turn it up to loud and it distorts because it cuts off the top of the wavelengths on the sound waves.

cd player probably just sucks. some cd players don't have very good skip protection

no it doesnt suck lol i paid 350 for it doesnt do it when im hitting bumps or anything it just starts skipping when i have it turned up to a decent volume also i dont have it wired through a harness if that hurts it any. I soldered the wires together

I'm not saying your cd player sucks but it doesn't matter how much you pay for something it does not always mean it is better

its probably the ground... i was havin the same problem with mine. tightened the ground a little bit and it works now.

Yeah, something probably isn't handling the power. Make sure you have a good solid ground and check all the connections. play the cd player while you hold it out of the dash and see if it heats up a lot possibly also. A lot of aftermarket players will turn themselves off if something starts clipping or if say the ground isn't good enough to handle the power you're putting the player at... or something like that ..
