I hope someone can help me. I just installed a Pioneer DEH-P7800MP in my 02 Cavalier. Installation was pretty easy. The problem I found is when I am listening to music with the key in the accessory position the radio continually turns on and off every few seconds. Could my battery be near deaths door? The unit works fine with the car running. Any help is appreciated. I am planning on adding new speakers and a sub along with two amps in the next year so maybe there is some pre power upgrading I should look at.
Thanks Myke

did you use a harness to install the radio or did u cut the stock one off and run wires?
The radio was installed with a harness from Scosche that is designed for the install. It has the module in it to replace the chime function. All connections were soldered and wrapped with shrink tubing. Everything works fine with the engine running it only happens with the key in the accessory position.

Check the voltage at the acc wire (red) at the radio. Does it drop? If so, your Pioneer needs something like 10V to operate (something like that) and it might not be seeing enough voltage, like a voltage drop for a second or something. Other then that, take the radio back to where you got it.
