underglow wire smoking
Tuesday, August 22, 2006 11:07 AM
i have the streetglow blueline series underglow, everything works fine, except the rear tube. ive run a wire from the end of the rear tube wire, to the module so that it actually reaches, everytime i turn the underglow on, this wire smokes and burns up, the wire that its connected to, that runs from the tube however, is fine everytime, there is nothing touching the wire (its the power wire that smokes up everytime) its not grounding on anything, but everytime the underglow turns on, this wire smokes up. ive changed it 3 times, each time it smokes up

Module ---(extension wire)(rear tube wire)-------------(rear tube)

any ideas?

did you run the wire in a big enough gauge. the only thing i can think of is the wire is not big enough to handle the current being thrown at it.

Same size as the wire that came with the kit

i can see one of 2 things that might go wrong here, if the gauge is the same.

1) A bad connection.

2) Solid core wire.

Make sure the light tube is connected properly.

smoking is bad. you should really convince it to quit. It's just not healthy.

And how about that second hand smoke that you are subjected to while you drive, that's just not right!!
