Well in my quest for audio I decided to upgrade my stock 6X9s with the Kicker KS693 6X9s. I'm not really expecting huge bass, but after reviews I found that they are a good choice. Besides right now with my Stockers people have asked if I had subs and asked me to pop my trunk so they could "check them out".
Anyways, I have a question well, more like I'm asking an opinion, do you think I should hook up the Kickers straight to my stock connections or invest in a nice lil 2 channel amp, say like a 180w or so. Also if I go with the amp, do you guys think it would preform well with my stock HU, which is the MP3 non monsoon version that was offered with the 03+ j-body models. Just a question, I really don't want to replace the head since it holds the theft security to the car and all.
Let me know your opinion guys...
get either a four channel amp or a 2 channel and amp the whole thing.
with the 4 channel, its pretty much startight forward.
with the 2 channel, you will have to put speakers in series to wire them up.
invest in a crossover aswell, as it will improve sound quality be eliminating bass frequencies in your front speakers (HIGH PASS) a low pass fo the rears would be good aswell, but not necissary.
Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!
^^ what? with a 2 channel it will power the two back speakers...he only wants the back two amped if i read what he said correctly...

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
i think he was refering to wiring the fronts and rears into one amp which in my opinion is a$$anine to eliminate features. Just spend a few extra bucks and get a four channel amp.

hes only got a factory Head unit, how many features is he going to loose??
a four channel would be ideal, but it is possible with a 2 channel aswell.
or if you get a 2/1 channel amp that can run trimode, run he front off to channels and run the rears in series bridged.
there are alot of options here.

hmm maybe the whole fade thing. Yes its possible to use a 2 channel amp but its just as possible to jb weld a wing on your deck lid. Instead of all of the above how about just getting a 4channel amp and doing it right.

yes i am quoting myself... i said a 4 channel would be better, and thats what i would use. but if a good deal on a 2 or 2/1 channel came by, is scoop it up.

I'm playing with the idea of just powering the rear speakers with the 2 channel, sorry if I wasn't all that clear, but then again it would be nice just to do all four so I've been thinkin about the 4 channel amp option.
