ok so when i first got my car i ran into the theft system problems the first time... so after reasearching i found the answer fairly quickly. now onto the new problem...(yes i searched again for all you flamers out there)
ok so i just replaced the wiring harnes for my dash cuz who the F*CK ever had the car before me slaughtered the wires just for a car alarm (we're talking about 8 different relays under the dash). wires were spliced into eachother, wires jumped TO the fuse box.... it was a nightmare. so after about 15 solid hours of replacing the harness/trying to get it starting again, i ran into what i still thing is the theft system. we broke vaccuum lines running into the Throttle Body so we thought it was that at first. then i remembered the problems with the Theft system from before. so I :
1. Turned the key into the ON position but did not crank (Theft light was blinking but went solid after about 3 seconds)
2. waited 15 minutes without opening any doors or touching anything that has to do with the car.
3. Cranked her from the ON position (cranked over, but died after the usual 2-3 seconds.
call me out if im doing something wrong... i tried again but waited 19-20 minutes and still the same thing...there is power to my radio buttons but not to the display/audio portion.
also a little info...the harness i pulled out of the other car was from a 99 or older, dont know exactly though, but i have a 96. also there is an unused harness that is coming out of the purple wrapped wires right before my radio, and to my knowledge, everything else is hooked up correctly. the only other harness plug that is bare is one that is on the same split as the two plugs that go to my instrument cluster.... please help...and keep the flaming to a minimum.
wish there was a way to get email notifications without reposting...
....just worked a few more hours.... the theft system is "bypassed", and the car still stalls out after a few seconds....dont know if its a vaccum leak still cuz the intake spews out air when the engine stalls out..... please help................
