it would help some but still alot of body flex. there is a lot of structure right there. I wouldnt personally cut it out.

if i were to cut it out then it would act like a hatch and diflect sound waves off the back window maybe, I dont know I was just asking, its not like the rear deck lid needs to be there, im not using 6x9's cause they suck, round speakers are the way to go lol just kidding

Don't do it. Just put sound deadening on the rear deck, cover it with the stock carpet, and it will sound great.

I remember someone doing this to do a cantilever suspension setup or something for air ride or something in that area and they had to much body flex and had to weld it up with some tubing after they cut it out.

it doesnt rattle and i have dynamat on there anyway i was wondering if it would help with spl if your subs are facing the taillights ie. like in a hatchback the sound waves will use the rear window as a deflection shield, I know that if you seal off the trunk and face the subs forward its better but im curious is this way would also work since I have no need of the rear deck lid

ya, you'd have to support it really well by welding in some kind of steel supports, or yur QP's will start to sag and bend.

just port the rear deck.
