i dunno where to put this question but i hope this is the right forum. if not sorry.. ok my friend has a 2001 cavalier and he wreck into a pond.. the car filled up a lil past the dash with water.. we got it out of the pond and to his house. so what we did was put the car in a heated garage and made sure everything was dry. took all of the interior and let it dried.. then we went thru all of the wires and made sure they where all dry. then we replaced all of the fuses.. now when he goes to start the car up it fires fine but it revs high and then shuts off. none of the lights on the dash come on either. what would cause it to start up rev high and then shut off? any help would be great thanks

some type of intake/vacuum leak would cause it to rev up. could also be a bad sensor like tps
