I want to install a push button to start my car engine but I was wondering if there's a problem if I don't cut the acc circuit while cranking the starter?
why would you cut the accesory circut?
I put one in easy install PM for instructions.
"
boobs now with Riboflabin"
your ACC circut doesn't get cut when you crank the engine, the dimming and stuff cutting out is from the draw on your electrical system cranking your car. At least that's how it was on my other cars, unless cavaliers are different

Is this the same as the ignition system on the 05 corvettes?

2005 Vette uses direct coil on plug ignition like the 2.4 but it still starts the same way as any other car. Power gets sent to the starter directly from the battery, thus turning the crank, thus sending signal to te ECU which then tells the ignition to begin the firing sequence as fuel is sent through the injectors.

Well i was thinking about getting one from a new vette to put in my cav so i dont have to worry about keys anymore after i shave my doors and trunk, cuz with the new vette you just have to have a transmitter on you and as long as the ignition senses that it will start.

Ah. Misunderstood what you were asking. So is the Vette pushbutton start only or does it have remote start? It's two different things altogether. I glanced at a C6 at the dealership the other day but I didn't notice the ignition. And if it's something where if the key fob is in range you can start the car with a button, it's probably something that's controlled by the ECU and if it is you probably can't add it to the Cavy and make it work.

No it has a pushbutton starter in it, but it wont start unless you have a key fob, that is constantly sending a signal within range of the car, its not really a remote starter its just like a regular key ring.

yea thats a real easy mod to do and you can keep the key switch incase there are problems. a buddy of mine went to mobile electronics school and said he could get me the parts for like 40 bucks. thinkin it might be a fun add on

Anyone can get the parts for Well UNDER 40 dollars. You can buy a premade kid for around that price if you want.
Ronin and Nate
The Vettes use a KeyFob much like the BMW X5. No keys. You get near the car, unlocks...get in and press the button. No need to put a key in the ignition.
However, adding that whole system to a Cav....no...not gunna happen. Possible? Yes, with alot of work and money.
Likely...not even.
where can you find the parts with the circuit so you need to be within a certain distance with the transponder to get the car to start. enlighten me

are you refering to a remote starter? go get one from any of your local car audio/electronics stores

if you want an aftermarket alarm/remote start that will disarm like the vettes, get the newer 2 way fm compustars
-------------
no man its a push button starter that wont work unless you have the transmitter piece in the car. kinda like the anti theft transponder keys that have the wireless chip in them. you cant start the car with a copy made of just metal. thats why sometimes when people need new keys made it costs them like 40 or molre bucks for just one. not a thing our j bodies have. not the same as gm's vats system either.

Push Button Start has nothing to do with remote start.
And belive me compustar doesnt work like the new vettes....The Vettes are KEYLESS.

Is that what you meant? Is that your buddy can get the parts to do that for 40 bucks? I thought you meant the parts for a push button starter
i was talkin bout the push button starter with te safety feature like the new vettes that they were talkin about. you dont need to use the same system the vettes have to do that and my buddy is hookin me up with the parts 4 40 bucks. with just the push button unless you want to still have to require that your key is in the ignition (which is pointless) then anybody can just jump in and drive away.
No @!#$, i dont see how hes going to get everything you need plus programming for 40 dollars, but hey if he can, go for it..i love that system...
the new 2006 mazda speed 6 is liek that you have multiple choices tho ... from just to unlocking the doors to starting engine when in range to starting engine when door opens and so forth ... i work for mazda so on monday i'll take a look @ that system for ya ... proabably non compatible but might be able to give u a better idea on it and the possibilities
ye ist easier than you think. if you want it to start when you open the door or something like that its a little harder. but he can order them through the skool he went to in jersey called syntech because he made friends w/ 1 of the teachers
Im not saying its terribly hard. Im talking about the price of parts.
Your gunna need parts for a push button Start
Then your going to need a remote fob capable or communicating with a Brain unit.
You need a brain unit
You need to program the brain unit to do what you want.
Hard? No. But parts for 40 bucks? No way
you domt have to believe me butthats the way it is. if you ever go to a shop to buy something theres literally approximately a 100% mark up on the products for retail compaired to what the shop pays for it. the kid i no gets rockfor 12 inch stage 2 subs for just over $50
