OK. I'm an employee at circuit city. I own a 2004 cavalier with powered sunroof. I press the button once to vent, and press it again to open all the way.
I bought the Python 881XP car alarm (i think that's the correct model, whatever the most expensive one is..). In the beginning I inquired if there was a way to control my sunroof via the keychain LCD remote. The first guy told me yes, buy the DEI 529T module, and it will do it no problem.
Well, this was back in the end of September.. and now it's the beginning of November, and I've been through so much hassle and run arounds, it's pathetic. I'm getting sick and tired of this stuff. Anyway, we don't have any of those modules in stock in the store, so I had to place the order through the internet warehouse and have it shipped to my door. The first time it took about a week to get to me. They worked on it for a couple of weeks, a little bit at a time, and finally they said they got it in right. It ended up draining my battery every night. then the roadshop managers went on vacation for a couple of weeks, so I was stuck jumping my car off every morning... god that sucked so bad.. SO I finally get it back in for them to work on, and they say oh all it needs is a DIODE.. that didn't help. so they blamed it on a "bad module". so we mark it defective, and i order a new one.
about 2 weeks later, i get it in. now they are telling me "they don't know if it can be done. they don't know if it was hooked up correctly or if it was a bad module." so now i'm getting the run around again.
ARG.
Anyway, his whole story is that he doesn't think the module will work with my sunroof because it vents first, and then opens all they way with a second button press. he says there might be a different module I can get that can do it properly, or I might have to get an additional module. I don't think they actually know, and am hoping someone on this forum can help me out, and give me a full wire guide/instructions on how to hook this up PROPERLY, and show them how to do it, since they can't figure it out on their own.
THANKYOU GUYS for any help!! Thank you for any info helping to end my frustration for the last couple of months... I just want to get this done and over with for gods sake.. lol.
Sorry for the long drawn out post, I wanted to give as much information as possible! Hopefully I will get the same in return!

Cavillac
because of the vent feature, i used a double relay and the stock sunroof controller to have it close on command when i want it to. as for opening it, no luck.

it is 100% possible. I had an A&B sound hook mine up. I unfortunately cannot tell you how it was done, as I haven't looked under my headliner. Unfortunately as well A&B Sound went belly up. I wont be able to take a look under there until spring, as its gotten too cold here to be working outside. But it can be done, you have to splice into the factory harness right before the motor, so that it bypasses the one touch vent, one touch open...
dammit i forgot to say that.
the way you could make it work is bypass the processor completely, and wire it directly to the motor. that will work
