well i have a question regarding the N1 and N2 units..
i understand that on the N1 you can switch the grounding to play movies while driving and with the N2 you cant due to the fact that it has a gyro in the motherboard or brain of the unit.
but my question is are the actually din units the same, you know with the screens?
cant you just take an n2 screen and still hook it up to the N1 motherboard or brain and have it still work?
in theory it will work because there are the same plugs on the back of the N1 din unit and the screen on the N2 din unit.
any one know for sure!
GOT ECOTEC?
Having the same physical plug doesn't mean it will work. Take Dell for instance, for a while they made their power supplies atx form factor, but changed 2 pins in the 20pin ATX connector. You could plug their power supply into a standard motherboard or a standard ATX power supply into a Dell motherboard, but when you applied power to it the smoke would escape and neither piece would work anymore.
Is the N2 much better than the N1?

im telling you, take the parking breaking ground wire and a constant ground wire, wire it to a switch.....flip it 3 times and it will play movies,we have an n2 on our demo wall and that how we get ours to play.....

/\ /\ /\ not possible. it deff runs off the gyro. also Pioneer created a update cd which converts the n1 to the gyro activated safety system. there is a whole section on the12volt.com covering ways to get around it.
