fried the power souce wire, but got a question

Ive got a question my stereo just shuts off for no reason (there is a sudden power drop) when it hits usually 25+ on my stereo (sound level) as stated it turns off so i looked found that my 12v (red wire on after-market that plugs into a yellow or orange wire on the cars harness) wire was melted so i replaced all of it as far as i could go. From the after-market harness from my stereo to the cars harness but it still does it not as much but usually around 29+ now. I know its a electrical power issue but my question is can I just by pass the harness and go directly to the battery with a fuse? sorry if what I'm typing is vague. I can explain more specifics if asked also its a 97 fire gt shouldnt make much of a difference

Yes you can, but it if i understand this right, you want your deck to be powered off the battery. So if you do that, it will always be on. even when the car is off.

if its the constant 12V, then u can run it direct to the battery with a fuse in line withouth noticing anything, if its the switched wire thats causing problems, then u can still run the wire to tha battery; only drawback being your stereo will remain on all the time. You could use a relay tied into another accessory thats on when your car is, but that is more work.
