Hey guys. Im new to this whole car audio thing. Whats the big hate on 4x6 speakers? Do they really stink that bad?

Im not looking to go crazy with my sounds system I just want it to sound loud and deep, not trying to win a contest or anyhting, so can you get decent 4x6 speakers for the front?

right now i have a full pioneer setup. 4x6 in front and 6x9 in the back also a deh-6600 head unit. also in the front, i have 300 Hz bass blockers. Personally my sound system sounds mint. the big problem with the 4x6's is they have no kick. yor best bet would be to get 6.5" for the front, 6x9 in the rear, and a 4 channel amp, its not that expensive and will sound nice and clear. if you do end up getting 4x6's for the front, bass block them or they will probably blow.

its a matter of taste. Most of us prefer 6.5 components because they have better overall sound reproduction and won't blow out because of low frequencies. i will say to filter out the low frequencies, whether u do it at the HU, equalizer, or just using passive crossovers.
