ok. i worked in car audio shops for the last ten years. where are u putting these 6.5's?
if ur trying the front door, it will depend on if they are components or co-axes. either which way, the problem will be getting the panel back on over the speakers.
a better option is fiberglassing a shell in ur kick panels. its really only twice as long as the doors. u will have to spend about $125 on fiberglass, fill, and bondo. but they will sound awesome there.
the other option is to buy some q-form pre made and colored kick panel pieces. they fit great, match the stock colors, and only take about 4 hours to install. they cost around $200. u will have to cut ur stock door sill panels, as with most q-forms. and they only hold a 5.25. just get a really good set of 5.25's to compensate.
the only cheaper way to do it is to cut a piece of cardboard straight across from the "curve" in the bottom door jam across to about two inches to the left of ur clutch pedal. if its a auto, then about 3 inches from brake pedal. after u finish making the top and bottom fit along the dash and carpet, cut ur template out of 3/4 mdf. cut out ur speaker holes and wrap in ur choice of carpet or vinyl.
i was thinking about putting them somewhere in the back
