Well, I just bought a Sunfire GT leather-wrapped steering wheel with the radio controls built in. I don't necessarily NEED to have them work, but I'd like to.

What I was wondering is if anybody has ever done this successfully, and how. My car has the 8-speaker Monsoon sound system if that helps at all. Any advice/pictures/part numbers would be EXTREMELY helpful. Thanks a lot, guys!!!

I noticed... Stupid me only remembered to search after I posted. It definitely seems as though no one has actually figured out an easy way to do this.

There is a kit that i saw today that allows you use those radio controls on the steering wheel with an aftermarket stereo, so its possible most definitly.

I've heard about these kits...and I'm wondering if it'd be possible to wire them up to a deck that isn't aftermarket...

well see i would be glad to test it out on my stero but i need a set fo controls

you need a deck (stock in your case) with an infared input

^^thats not how the control work on stock decks it taps into the radio harnees

If you actually get them to work with the stock Monsoon deck, I want to know about it!! I've got a set of those controls kickin' around in my basement somewhere. I never bothered to look into it since they look pretty beat up but if you're doing the legwork for me... I might just go ahead and use them.

or you want to loan them to me (i have a monsoon deck) when i get them working i'll send instructions and the unit back to you......my local junkyards judt dont have the controls
