Sub Placement (Trunk)

Hey guys. I was wondering, what is the best place to position my subs. I have a 2 10''s in a speaker box. I was wondering, should i have the speakers facing toward the front of the car or toward the rear. Also, is it better to have free space in the box or is it better for me to fill it with something, newspaper, etc? Thanks guys.

Face the rear of the trunk, and you can put in some polyfill (like used in pillows, cheap at fabric stores) or staple some insulation to the outside walls of the box. Using pollyfill will for the sub make the box seem slightly larger (if sealed) so it's not a bad idea to use some. Most people don't bother putting any inside, like myself.

Face the subs toward the rear of the car. That will simulate a second box for the subs, creating a band pass box effect (more bass).

step one: face subs towards rear
stept two: play music, and listen
step three: face subs towards front of car
stept four: play music and listen
step five: YOU PICK WHAT YOU LIKE BEST

im kinda sick of these posts lol

there are a few other options that will give you better bass then those options. facing the box towards the rear and moving the box so it sits about an inch or two from the back of the trunk will give you more bass (and kill your trun room) and facing the subs forward and sealing the trunk off from the interior around the box will most likely give you more bass then the others but will require allot more work.
