my car didnt come with cd player,decided just to get one of those oemcd player for 2004cav,it works fine but now its on lock.how can i unlock the damn thing?i really need your help is there a code or something?

Well you needed to have the code for the player before it was taken out of the last car. If it doesn't let you do anything then try this, I'm not sure if it will work for your car but it worked for my sisters Grand am. You have to drive the car for one hour then the radio will reset it's self. Then once it does that you have to get a GM dealer to get the master code for that radio. They should be able to do this for free. Once it's been reseted then you can put in your own code for the anti-theft option. Just follow the steps in the manual for your car. good luck.

No no no.... completely wrong. (Sorry newtuner) That's the Theftlock procedure. Not the same.

Take the car to GM, or a shop with a GM Tech 2 diagnostic tool. You need to have the Body Control Module reflashed to work with the new deck. They may have to look up the RPO code for the radio you installed, since it's different than the one that came in the car (and the RPO on your spare tire cover is for the old radio).

Takes 5 minutes tops, but you need the Tech 2. No way around it.
