anyone have it? how it is it, pain it in the ass or no? Also where did you pick them up and did the 6.5's drop right in?

if your worried about room go with a componet set made to be played off-axis, then you wont have to have the speakers at such a dramatic angle and they can come close to being flat against the kickpanel. will save you a few inches. of course this also means q-forms would be out of the question and you'd have to make your own pods. but if u spend a small amount of time angling, and building youlle come out witha bettter sounding setup.

well heres my thing. I have a set of 6.5 inch type r compnets in the front doors now, I'm adding a second set... if the kick panel thing wont be a dirrect place in fit and I have to mess with it then I'm jhust gonna fiberglass the door and have both sets mounted that way.

I know it's not a 3rd gen, but I have the q-forms in my 2nd gen and it's a 5 speed. they look like they'd be in the way, but I have no trouble with it. the 6 1/2" infinity components I have in them were (almost) a plug and play size.

got my kicks off cardomain. they were more work than I thought they would be but nothing on the hard side as far as doing it yourself. (my hardest part was finding a place for my crossovers.)

Everything LOUDER than everything else!!

just got my Q forms in this week on a 2003 sunfire 5sp. to answer your question i have roughly 1 inch from the pod to the clutch pedal. they cover the pad thats next to the clutch but its not bad at all. i should of made my own though. i have the boston 3way components. and the tweet and 4 inch mid are in the kicks and the 6.5 woofer in the doors. sounds good though. as far as getting them my shop ordered from our distributor and they had to get them from q themselves took like 5 weeks i beleive.

good luck

^^^^ are you refering to me?

no I'm not just going for loud, other wise I wouldn't bother with the second pair up front.. With everythign I have now the sound Quality is absolutely awsome.. since I'm gonna go to 4 12's instead of the current 2 I'm gonna go with more sound up front as well to balance it out... my car isn't a stereo competition car, I want it to get as loud as possible and still sound clear and proportioned doing so

I've had 6.5's in the kick in my car, and they suck if your driving a 5 speed. Come to think of it, they were type R's too. I currently have 4" speakers in my kicks right now, and they are perfect there, lots of room for the deadpedal and clutch. 6.5s are probably better in the doors.

just refrencing to the fact that two sets of speakers both aimed in diffrent directions is going to kill any sound staging u might have.

i'd rather have my ears chewed off with questions, i was a recluse at the bash, spent most of the time under our canopy instead of walking around talking to everyone, think i was just spent after finally getting the car done that i was to tired to do anything lol

anytime u add more speakers you make it harder to get a solid image. its easier for one person to say a sentance perfectly, now add another person saying the same sentance at the same time but from a diffrent location and the sound will start to go on you.

I have my speaker pods for sale. Full threshold replacement. You lose the "dead pedal" area to rest your foot, it's not too bad in a 5 speed though. The imaging was amazing with just the 4 speakers up front.

BTW most of my stereo equipment is up for sale.
