Quick question, what is it you want your alarm to do? Do you want something simple, or do you want to go all out?

Mike Roth
The system has arrived.

If you are planning to go all out with an alarm, I'd suggest the Viper 791xv or the Compustar. Both are very good alarms.I personally own the Viper 791xv and I love it.Very good range and lots of features.

Personally i dont need anyhting that is going to be a remote start, cause my car is a stick and i just don't need that much.... I need something that is going to protect my car i want keyless/alarm system... i know the python 700 is a good one.. Is there any others?

The Viper alarm that I have does not have a remote start as I do not like them very much either. Python 700 looks like a decent one also. I can't think of any others really.

^^ Basically a small battery hidden somewhere in your car that is hooked up to the alarm that will still keep the car armed even if the main battery connection is cut.

without any sort of backup battery a theif could come by, stick his hand up under your bumper and snip your power cable to your battery, without a battery backup your alarm most likely wouldnt go off. i would think that most decent alarms should have this as a stock option by now but i havnt researched alarms in a few years.
