keyless entry stopped working even after i got a new battery for the remote, same for the trunk, any help?

Sounds like your receiver needs reprogramed to recognize your FOB again.

Either that, or it's just out of sync. These transmitters send a different code every time, so as to thwart code-grabbing devices (or so I've read in the service manual... could be bs... who knows). There is a resynchronization procedure in the manual along the lines of holding both lock & unlock buttons down while the key is in the ON position (but not running). I don't know exactly what else tho... (I'm at work right now, service manual is at home).

The re-learn procedure Besse describes (if the remote has somehow become de-programmed) requires a trip to GM and a Tech 2 diagnosic tool (on the 2000+ models).

I'll post the procedure when I get home if someone else doesn't beat me to it.
