so much to tune

is there a crash course per se on tuning your system? I like how mine sounds, however I know it can be better... between the R adn L gain on my sub amp as well as the crossover and HP,AP,LP filters... and then the F R gain on my speaker amp... not to mention all the options in my head unit and the more that will be in the new one... and the remotes...

basically, is there a place I can go to gain the knowledge of what all the stuff will do to my system adn how it will affect teh sound, or do I just have to guess and check and try to crawl my 6'5" body around my 2dr cavi?

also, I guess it should be known that I like a good mix between SQ and SP, and I like to hear my music like it is centered where my head is... not blasted at my face... let me know if y'all have any suggestions...

best thing is to get a well recorded cd. listen to it on a decent home system, then sit in your car and start practicing. if you dont know what real music sounds like its going to be hard to reproduce in your car. and the only way to learn what each knob does, is to start adjusting and listen to the changes it makes.

well, I have heard the best home audio system money can by, but it happens to be in Danville, IN at one of my best friends house, and he is the one that helped me tune the 3 band with my current deck... but I am getting a new Eclipse 8 series deck here very soon and would like to retune my whole system so that it performs the best I can get it to (no point having the new deck otherwise)... I tried to retune my system the other day just to see what I could do with it, and ended up just switching it back as best as possible bc it sounded like total crap... so basically I can tell the difference between good and bad... anything more than that, I dunno... but I also need to find out what the best frequency for my enclosure is as well as remember how the hp and lp filters work... I knew at one point, but since then I have forgotten... I sent you an e-mail sndsgood so perhaps we can sort this out through that communication line...thx everyone for their help...
