Whats your Volts
Monday, July 04, 2005 6:50 PM
I have an Audiobahn amp Which has an LED read out of the Volts of Batt. With engine running I get 14.1 With engine off I get 12.6. That is with 4 guage Fosgate Wire. I was checking what everyone else was getting on their volts and what there are using to get it there.

Thanks

Everyone should have 12.6 with the engine off... plus or minus 0.1 volts

And with nothing on, everyone should get 14.0-14.8 volts (with stock alternator)...

And it doesnt matter if you used a 4 GA wire or an 8 GA wire or 12 or 14 or 18 or 22 GA... Voltage will pass through any size wire and come out the same on the other end (as long as the wire is too long and hes low resistance). The gauge of the wire will only really change the amount of current that can go through it, not voltage.

Whats your point?

NOW... with random electronic accesories turned on, and/or alternator upgrades, we may see varying voltages...

I upgraded my ALT/BATT wire and when I had a big bass drop on 2 800w peak subs with engine running I only dropped to 13.8 volts from 14.6

You're reading my line-break, you are a loser. Lurch <3's the c**k.
