Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone else had this problem with not having enough room to fit in an aftermarket deck? I see that there is plastic in the back, I was thinking about cutting that out, therefore giving me about 1-2" more room. Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem? I have a Pioneer DEH-1000. Basic Deck, but Don't seem to fit.

Cut that piece of plastic out. I had to cut it out of my car to fit my Panasonic deck in.

Also, what pieces do i need exactly from the installation kit. Obviously the big piece, but what about the plastic pieces on the side that go in the back? I don't get what those are for?

i only used the big plate with the built in tray thing (witch by the way should be angled up slightly, cuz my cell phone goes flying every time i touch the gas lol), but yeah, the big plate is the only piece i used

dont cut it yet try taking the bolt out that holds the metal and plastic together thats what i did to mine and it added abiout an inch or so because it was easier to bend so my jensen in dash dvd fit right in try that first if it doesnt work i suggest cutting the sun of a 66 outta there!!!!
I just removed the screw that Zack Martin talked about and it worked for my Sony deck, I didn't have to cut anything.
MY Alpien deck fit in, with the cooling fan, heatsink and all.

i just used a drimmel it came out really easy just have a vacum handy cuz that plastic makes alot of threads....
CUT IT OUT i did and it dosent really do much so its kinda stupid to be there anyways...
