make sure you ground the plexi case and components where possible. It can build up a static charge that may discharge into the inside components

hey dale, thanks for the advice, you think a metal band soldered to the frame of the car would do the trick?
that should be fine, connect the ground to as many of the screws that are used to mount the board, each of standard mounting holes in the board contains a ground that would normaly goto the case, as well as the metal bracket on the video card. also the metal case on the power supply.
