Amp wiring
Thursday, June 23, 2005 8:06 PM
Where do you all put your grounds? It seems like my ground never stays going, and Im wondering where you all have put the ground wires for your amps at. Currently I have mine running under that plastic tab around the trunk lid latch...

Thanks

What, you mean nobody here has an amp?

I run a 0/1 Gauge wire from the engine to a grounding block where I hook up my Amps. Happy now?

Yes But where can I put a ground wire in the trunk area?

drill a hole, scrap away paint and stick a bolt in there.

well, I would run the 0/1 wire to the trunk and hook up a grounding block. drilling a hole, stripping paint and running a bolt will work good too. I would stay away from self tapping screws if you have a problem with them pulling loose

Thats good info. Thanks guys! So, if my amp is located in the spare wheel well, just drill a hole in the bottom of that and put the bolt in there?

you can, but you might want to look for some place with a bit thicker metal, it will help prevent the bolt from pulling thru.
