Sub problems!
Sunday, June 05, 2005 7:57 PM
So on Saturday I went to Dunkin Donuts to get breakfast for the family (weekly thing).....and about half way there my sub just stopped working. So I got home, ate breakfast....took my sub out of the box, turned the car on and checked it out, it only worked when u pushed the cone down into the basket.....so I called my buddy up, to see if he wanted to run to Jerkit Cirty with me. I bought my sub online at an ebay store, he bought the same sub at Circuit City and got the warranty plan....about 3 months after he got his sub he put a nive puncture in the cone, figuring Circuit City wouldn't take it back, he just let it sit.....so we went to Circuit City to return my sub (not from Circuit City) and get a new one on his warrant plan. Turns out they didn't have my style 10" Sub, and I didn't want the newer version of it, because it would have cost me money. So I got a 12" Infinity Reference Sub for free......only one problem my trunk setup and box is designed for a 10". So I ripped my whole trunk setup apart, and started building a new one.

So Sunday morning, I got up at 8am (never happens)....and started designing a new setup, the original design was to have the sub in a box on the trunk floor....and have the amp above it, but set back......so I designed the box to the specs I needed which was 1.25 cubic feet. I built the box, then came to find out it was too big for the setup, there wasn't enough room for the amp above it. So after some cussing, I hooked it all up and went to work. While at work I came up with a new design using the box that I built. So after I got home from work I started building the Amp Rack. Only issue is I ran out of sunlight, and I'm sooo tired. All that is left is to re run my ground wire, and check to see if I need any extensions of my speaker wires. Finish the Amp Rack, and make the covers, then carpet it all.

I hope to have it all done on Friday, I will try to get some pictures of the progress so far up tomorrow, before I start working on it. I'm pretty pumped about the set up, it is the first time I have ever tried anything like this, and the first time any of my friend's have seen/done anything like it. I hope to wow so of my buddies, and hopefully turn some head at a local car show.
