Okay, I have a question am not a regular to the forum (I am a regular at the S-10 4x4 forums).
My wife has an '03 base model cavalier and would like rear speakers installed on the rear shelf. I have already yanked her stock AM/FM Delco unit an installed it in the trunk. I replaced it with a Sony AM/FM/CD/MP3 unit and threw 200 watt Pioneers in the doors.
I have done about 9 searches trying to find out if the rear speaker wiring is already in place. The S-10s are rewired for almost any configuration on the base models.
I just need to know if anyone knows if they are wired and the location of the wiring.
I do possess a GM's current "SI" program but, doesn't tell me if, the rear wiring lays dormant somewhere on the base models.
Thanks for any help that you may provide.
I haven't seen a Cavalier YET that didn't come with rear speakers from the factory. Mind you.. they're usually the $10 pieces of junk... but they're all supposed to come with them.. Unless you have a radio delete in which case there probably aren't any.
That said... the wiring should be there already... and it should be connected to the rear speakers already
If it didn't come with a radio.. then likely the wiring isn't there. We don't usually get extra wiring for non-installed options (ie. power windows, locks, etc)

its all there, just open the trunk and look.
