Alarm Question

one of the previous owners of my car had a viper 300 security system installed on my 96 z...well one of my friends was messing with the remote trying to set it off and now the siren wont go off...when i lock it, unlock it....and when the alarm is going off just the lights flash no siren....i checked the fuse, reset the ecu, took the battery out of the remote, all outta ideas....btw i looked in the manual and it was no help any suggestions thanks in advance....

try checking the wire going to the brain make sure it is plugged in all the way and if that dont work check the wire from the brain allthe way to the siren and if that dont work make sure you have a good ground at the brain and at the siren . hope this help..

The General wire color for the siren is brown... You can use a test probe to check to see if the wire is getting power when you arm/disarm...

I would probably check it @ the siren itself first, If thats a no-go, then check it at the brain..
Its a possibility that the alarm quit.

About 2 weeks ago, the same thing happened to me after an install-- the siren wasn't chirping anymore. Turned out the brain crapped out.

i find it strange that messing with the remote could have done that much damage...unless maybe it overloaded it i dont know to much about alarms though thanks for the help

See if the led is on solid. If so it is in valet mode. Turn the key on to ignition then back off then push the little black valet button.
