Sound deadener in doors??
Monday, May 30, 2005 8:45 AM
Hey all. I've just decided to go with an audio system in the car again. Now that the little one is older, the luggage is less, so theres more room. Anyways, I just finished laying mat in the trunk, and on the rear package deck. Next step is on the floor and in the doors. Now, my question is, how should I go about doing the doors? Ive seen some guys use a mat, and cover the inside of the door, just like the vapor barrier that comes stock. Others will paint a deadener on the inside of the door skin. Which is better? Is it worth it to do both, or is that overkill? I'm trying to make it as quiet as possible outside the car as I can. It annoys me when these kids roll around with their old POS buckets, and have the whole thing rattle and buzz.

I may not know much about cars, but I know two things....
1) Breaking things is expensive, and
2) Horsepower isn't cheap.
