Radio Noise
Saturday, April 30, 2005 7:05 AM
I just installed my new radio w/ 7" moniter . Replaced my factory radio. Now I have a interferace noise that hums and clicks. the humming gets to a higher pitch and the clicking gets faster as engine speed increases. I know it has something to do with the ignition system, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do about it.

HELP!

when you installed it....(let's say your system is stock) you most likely crammed the harness in there, the signal wires got close enough to the power wires that noise is being introduced into the sytsem.

What you can do, is take your head unit out, but leave it hooked up. turn the car on and move the wires until the noise goes away, leave it on while you re-mount it into the dash.

I did cram the wires in there. Took me forever to get them where they were not in the way! Would it help if I shorted the harness?
