I just changed my ecotec to two-steps colder spark plugs, NGk Iridium in prep for my nitrous. When I give my car the gas, it makes a brief suction noise where the TB is. When I put my hand over the TB, it sucks my hand tight against it... anyone encounter this noise problem? Perhaps a new bigger TB is required?
no, thats normal when you open the butterfly it will suck more air in and it will suck your hand lol
yep... completely normal.. unless you have boost, there's always suction in the TB, intake, etc. The engine is like a giant pump.... sucks in a lot of air and spews a lot out.

You usually don't hear that noise thru an intake... did you install an intake recently? Or did it stop when you put the intake back on? (Or are you running an open TB? In which case... good on ya man!! I thought no one but me had the balls to do that

Just a quick note... if you ever see a turbocharger running... don't stick your hand over the intake, ok? You can kiss your hand goodbye if you try what you just did with your TB on a turbo...

no it is not turbo and the noise was never there until right after I changed my spark plugs. For some reason my two steps colder plugs cause my engine to suck in a bit more air. Perhaps the cyclinders are just producing slightly more pressure or something due to the plugs.
i went to the NGK Iridium TR7's and they caused my car a rough idle and a missfire on cylinder 3. im gonig to try the TR6's next

true Rodimus, but my rough idle and missfire happened when i went to the TR7s.
now i put the TR5's i had back in and everything is ok. for now. the TR6's are on the way
