Wanna TOON My Car For A T-Shirt?
Saturday, August 06, 2005 9:05 PM
I'm looking for a couple of different people to TOON my car for a T-Shirt I am making this winter. If you make the toon I choose for the shirt you will get full recognition for the Toon on the shirt. Any takers?

Thanks

Ashley

So since my car is nice, I have to pay money for a personal favor? People on the ORG always do Tooning favors for people with out bringing $ into the equation.

^Tooning takes a ton of time. If you want a business favor, you need to offer something in return. Thats the way it works.

And I think the car is already kinda toony in this pic

well, I assumed that someone as yourself who enduldges and respects the art form which is car tunning would have equal respect and understanding for other art forms.

just because some people give free toons and some peopel get them, doesnt mean that those artists SHOULDNT get paid.

usually most artists will START off doing some free work to get their name and art out in the public eye so that people will understand why they would want to pay for it.

someone with even a LITTLE bit of respect for the art form would offer money for the job. even if the artist usually does it for free. its called respect.

lets say a famous artist donates alot of his work to people or orgs. would it be respectfull to then go to that person who obviously does great work and ask for a freebie for no reason?

i seriously cant believe ur not even willing to ani up at least a FEW bucks. i seriously thought someone who spent as much time, money and effort in making a car like yours would totaly understand WHY they should offer a bit of money to recieve a high quality piece of art.

FINE FORGET ABOUT IT, I WILL HAVE A PERSON THAT HAD OFFERED TO DO IT FROM ANOTHER SITE. PEOPLE ON HERE ARE WHY PEOPLE DONT POST ANYMORE. ITS SUPPOSE TO BE ONE BIG COMMUNITY WERE PEOPLE HELP EACH OTHER NOT CON PEOPLE OUT OF MONEY. SO YOU WANT TO PREACH ABOUT RESPECT, MAYBE YOU AND SOME OTHERS ON HERE SHOULD LEARN HOW TO GIVE IT FIRST. I HAVE BENT OVER BACKWARDS FOR SOME MEMBERS ON THIS SITE AND I REFUSE TO DO IT ANYMORE, IF ALL PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED IN IS MONEY THEN THIS IS NOT A FREE ORGANIZATION LIKE IT STATES WHEN YOU SIGN UP.

OH AND DONT EVER TRY TO TEACH ME ABOUT RESPECT AGAIN. I BUILD SHOW CARS, SO I THINK I KNOW HOW TO ADMIRE ART THANK YOU. MAYBE I SHOULD START CHARGING PEOPLE TO LOOK AT MY ART FORM ON THIS SITE, THATS THE SAMETHING YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.

THANKS AGAIN I'LL GET IT DONE BY SOMEONE ELSE ON ANOTHER SITE

I WAS READING THROUGH THE STICKY FOR THIS FORUM AND NOTICED THIS QUOTED BY NATHANIEL:

Quote:

Image manipulation to the people here is something we love to do and enjoy. However, We do have jobs and lives of our own. Shops are completed in our spare time and out of the kindness of our hearts.

JUST THOUGHT IT WAS INTERESTING ESPECIALLY WHERE IT SAYS "SHOPS ARE COMPLETED IN OUR SPARE TIME AND OUT OF THE KINDNESS OF OUR HEARTS."

FUNNY NO WHERE DID IT SAY FOR MONEY!

Queen Z, you're getting freakin' ripped just cause you put a lot into your car and people think you should always dish out the big bucks. I agree, the stuff some of these people do sometimes is total

I've had a lot of shops, and nobody has ever asked for cash, just a friendly thanks.

yeah i do, and no where on this forum does it say you have to pay for it if you have a nice car, and if it came back like that then i wouldnt use it. Its plan and simple, when Nathaniel stated especially with a car as nice as yours you should offer money, thats bs , especially when i went into the sticky and found this "Image manipulation to the people here is something we love to do and enjoy. However, We do have jobs and lives of our own. Shops are completed in our spare time and out of the kindness of our hearts." you can't justify what they are doing by asking me for money just because i have a certain car. Thats not fair and I wont be apart of bs like this. And people wonder why alot of people have stopped posting on the org because of people like this and their comments like the ones above are why.

WTF, All she wants is someone to make a cartoon of her car. JBO is such a freaking joke these days. No one shows respect on this site no more, not like they once did when I first signed up. But what can you expect from a bunch of little immature brats.

If I knew how to use photo shop I would give it a go but I am pretty illiterate when it comes to stuff like that. Ashley, I wish you the best of luck trying to find a mature individual on this forum that will help you out and not expect to get something in return.

As an outsider looking in here;

MAybe part of the problem is how you posted that the "toon is for a t shirt im making". I think this quote leads people to believe that they are doing a toon for you for free so you can put it on shirts you are going to see to make money. I can see why someone might get upset by that to be honest

Re: Wanna TOON My Car For A T-Shirt?

I'd rather get the recognition on the shirt that she promised if I could do it rather than a few measly bucks. It'd be an honor that she used yours over anyone elses. Especially someone with that nice of car takin' that shirt to shows and all. I couldn't think of a better way to get your name out there really. Greedy little babies.
