Most tachs have a switch to tell the tach how many cylinders your engine has. Make sure that is set properly.

If its a cheap tach you will have to custom wire it... it has duel wires one power wire for each coil and you must do your own custom wiring in order to get it to work first split the signal wires into 2 separate wires then you must run diodes so power can only flow one way ( or you will have ignition misfire problems) then it should work properly with a 6000 rpm red line or if its tuned it maybe more

Sorry if i didnt explain this well enough the one signal wire comming from the tach has to be split into 2 wires ( one for each power wire to the coils) next diodes must be installed to keep the coils from back powering one another and causing an engine misfire then after that find just spice and tie the wires together and heat shrink to keep the wires from getting corrosion on them ( the red clips that you get with those will let water and anything else in there and will cause the wire to go bad so heat shrink) if you have questions about the coil wires look them up in a wiring schematic i cant remember the colors sorry

The form you said about says you have to buy an adapter (which is just more money its another 65 bucks) i was explaining how to do it without buying the adapter, i did mine without the adapter and it works just fine

As in, set it for a 2 cylinder engine.
