OK I was thinking and came up with something......
I thought about installing a cutout after my resonator and redirecting the exaust flow to a stock (really quiet) muffler on the passenger side of the car when the cutout is open.... that way.... I could make my car sound stock at a flip of a switch and avoid being noticed by police if need be
Anyone else ever thought of doing this? I'm not sure if it's a good idea... but I'm curiouse about it.
I thought about it too! Im sure it wouldnt be hard to do, and would work pretty good. Its a nice bit of work, but would pay for its self without the exhaust noise tickets.
if you get a good enough muffler it should be quiet and powerful.
it could work in theory but then you gotta flip it at the right time. if they hear you a 1/2 mile down the road and you go quiet when you pass him its not gonna do much good

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
Look for a couple of Stacey David's projects, "Copperhead" and "The Rat Roaster". Both of these projects use electric cutouts to alter exhaust paths for racing/running the streets and being quiet while sneaking up on the unsuspecting victim....er...no...wait thats right, victim.
My father inlaw has this same setup on his flathead 50 ford, one side is fairly quiet dual exhaust out the back and the other is for the lakes pipes.
