does anyone have any lmk im interested thanks
That time seems really slow... Is there traction issues? Im looking into getting some Nitto drag radials cause traction in 1st and 2nd is a joke...

Yeah.... that's with pretty bad traction that day. It was at the bash last year, if you ask anyone that was there it was kinda cold and it was raining when we first got to the track, so right at first the track was still pretty nasty. Hell, my first run was something like 17.8xx (with a 3.3 60' time, heh). The time kept getting lower and lower as the day went on though the 15.1 was my last run of the day. All the runs seemed to be right at the 92mph mark (actually a couple of the previous runs were higher than the 92.79) I believe everyone was running a bit slow that day though too.
I ran a couple online calculators, with that trap speed it said I should get a best of 14.28, but you're considering sub 2 second 60' times on that which I probably won't achieve. My tires are probably the cheapest damn thing you can find too. The only reason I have them is because they're on the car, and they're not worn out. (they also seem to get around real good in the snow for some reason, even though they're not snow tires). Skilz also pointed out to me that I have some wicked nasty tire shake off the line which is pointing to bad control arm bushings. I'm looking into a set of the aluminum control arms, but if I don't pick up a set by the summer then I'll be just installing the poly bushings into the stock ones.
Here's a couple vids.
First one, I believe it's Chewy from here on JBO. Listen to how I baby it on the line because of bad traction, then once it's rolling, you can hear me gun it.
This was the best run of the day. It almost sounds like (not sure) that i'm shifting at the same time as the turbo Sunfire (not sure who it is, someone might notice) but if I am, he definately pulls away on the 2nd half of the track.
A couple of other things.
I noticed this the other day when I was watching the laptop while driving (probably not a safe idea). I still need to get a datalog of it to see exact speeds this happens. Before I get to the rev limit my timing advance starts going back. I'm not sure if this is something that the Megasquirt is doing on it's own, but I don't think so because it's not set to pull timing but rather to a fuel cut. I think I might have turned it back, or just not set the timing table far enough out (rev limit is at 6250, I previously had it set at 5900 so it makes sense) but by time i get to the rev limiter the timing advance has pulled back to 19.3 degrees (i only have it set to 23 tops anyways)
The other thing, I think there's something wrong with the valve springs. When I get to higher RPMs the engine starts to struggle. The engine sat in the junk yard for a while so it could explain it. It almost seems like 5900 or so RPM on up that the valves are floating some. It did this on the OBD-I that I had in there too. The O2 stays on rich when it happens, (though I do only have a narrow band, but that should be good enough to tell me rich or lean). And it doesn't change what happens to it if I add more fuel or take away fuel, so it's gotta be mechanical. If it is the valve springs I hope that problem is eliminated over the summer because I have a 3500 top end sitting here that only has 2000 miles on it.
I have heard that same thing about the valves. LS6 swap time. What all do you need for the 3500 swap? are the pushrods and rocker arms the same or what?

Im going to the track saturday.
I think right now Im topping out at 25 degrees advance. Which the motor seems to like. I might bump it up at the track and see if I can squeeze more out of it.
I need bigger injectors because they hit 100 percent duty cycle in the uppers.
LS6 valve springs have been in since I did the motor because I knew I would run into valve float.
Hopefully Ill see 14s.
Im pulling the intakes tommorow since I dont have an 3400 ones around and gonna open them up as much as I can.
Hey Pat, did you ever get yours to idle ok? I went so far as to turn my IAC down to about 35 steps when the coolant temp is up to 160 degrees. That keeps it at idle at about 950rpm. Just wondered, cuz I know you had my tune, but I had it set higher.
Actually I had to set my idle air higher because I turned up my fuel pressure so much that it was to rich at idle. So yes I got it to idle decent finally.
Track was closed sat cuz of the weather. Did not get to go yet
