ok guys heres the deal i found a 2001 z24 with 57,000 miles. believe me when i tell you that the price is really good, something i cannot pass up. it comes with a 4 point roll cage suspension, rksport body kit, exhaust, carbon fiber trunk and hood, door poppers, and has some mild work done to the motor. not to sure. Now he says it runs but needs lifters, which is fine but how many of you know how bad of a job this is. quick fix or does anyone know how much lifters cost. also i just need some tips as to what to look out for when i go to check this thing out. I just want to know anything that will help me.
.....god saturday cant come soon enough
thanks,
Joe
if theres anything im missing just let me know
You can get the lifters for 26 bucks a pop. which I think is kinda pricey considering there are 16 of them in there, but hey, it could be a lot worse. since the whole valvetrain is right under the cam cover, I would say its not a difficult job at all.
if there sure its lifter i have a set i am selling brand new not 1k on the $100 shipped i paid $200 first thing. second thing is you probally have a coupe other guys say it to but you might want to have it checked for a rod bearing. the ld9 have a common problem of those but not always the problem. sometimes a way to tell the difference is to check and see if the noise is comming from the bottom end not the cam area.
lifter tick is sometimes confused with a sloppy wrist pin. I'd go into this one prepared to replace the engine.
well at first my original plan was to get a project car and save up over the summer and work on it with my dad for a father son project. so even if its that bad i can still deal with it because a motor/tranny swap was part of my original plan so as long as the rest of the car is fine the frame is straight clear title no dents or rust anywhere it will be in the driveway sat and i will try to post some pics.
it's sat. lets see it!!!!
speed kills!!!! drive a honda and live forever!!!!
