My 2.4L has 195,xxx on it and the timing chain is really loud, is that something to worry about. And can it be fixed by changing it?

Could be the tensioner

Get yourself a Chiltons or Haynes manual, best thing to do.I had the dealer replace my chain, waterpump and tensioner so I don't know the difficulty

i know changing the tensioner on a 2.2 isnt fun so im guessing on a 2.4 it wouldent be much better

Biggs you said you had the dealer replace your chain waterpump and tensioner, how much did it cost you were the 2 grand figures that people had been quoting on here pretty accurate. I ask because i posted awhile back inquiring about my own timing chain though mine is an eco and someone gave me a quote of close to 2 grand. My theory is if that quote is right you could about replace the entire engine for the same price.
