how lazy are people going to get? a device to tell you when your oil is bad??
most people dont even change their own oil anyway..
yeah but this thing watches for coolant and fuel contamination and watch's the quality of the oil, why change your oil at 3000 miles if it is still clean and has life left in it. My cars i usually change once a year maybe twice if i did any work on the engine, my buick is an 89 and i have no oil consumtion issues and it runs great on 11 years of once a year oil changes
you can do all that with a manual test and its
free!
You can tell if it needs changing by its color... if it has coolant in it, it gets a milky look to it, as well as if it smells like coolant or fuel
my dads trailblazer does the same thing, push of a button and it tells how much life the oil has left

i dont see that for peopel who dont change thier own oil though my mom could use one seeing as she went an entire year w/o a change.
i see it more for people like you and me pj. the type of person that actually would use it more for oil diag than oil change time. plus log it all into an onboard computer coupled with OBD II and you got yourself a pretty spiffy eninge diagnostic computer
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

I beleive that Oil Life system uses a 7,000 mile system though.

i think if you care so much about oil analysis; a microscope, a graduated cylinder, and a good scale would give you more accurate results for the same price. i could see this being great for a deisel, since their oil looks like 30,000 mile old gasoline oil after about 50 miles.

you cant smell coolant in oil and gas evaporates quickly through the PCV but with enough experience you can tell the difference between synthetic and conventional if you know how old the oil is.
Listen F***ers. FASTERTHANAHONDA is a joke because I WORK FOR HONDA. I'll talk @!#$ about Fords to, that doesn't mean I can beat a 12 second mustang.
ill stick with the every 3 months or 3,000 miles, I dont need a computer to tell me that
hah thats pretty neat. stuff people come up with now-a-days.
COMING SOON! VERY NICE!

I thought the GMOLS bases it on a number of things. Including miles, type of driving, rather the engine has gotten up to full temp, and how @!#$ty the oil is.
^ It doesn't actually check the condition of oil. It's 7K or 7.5K (i forget) some base it off of type of driving, number of start-ups, and miles.
