What is the significance of the little triangle on the end of the head right behind the P/S pump?
Is there a difference between that head and an Eco head that doesn't have it ? ( years produced?)
Interesting
on my red car it HAS one, on my black car it does NOT have one, on my GM P&P head it does NOT have one, im not sure the differance either
both my cars are 2004 caviliers, red car oct 03, black car nov 03

Yeah, it's a provision for an EGR valve, and from what I can tell, it was phased out in early 2003. In fact, I can't say that I ever recall seeing any Ecotec with an EGR valve, hence, why it is not cast in on the newer cylinder heads.
As a side note, if you are using the pressurized oil port in the middle of the cylinder head for any reason, , the EGR plate is an absolute pain in the ass to work with. My oil line for my turbo just barely cleared after grinding the plate down a bit to make it thinner.
Currently #4 in Ecotec Forced Induction horsepower ratings. 505.8 WHP 414WTQ!!!
Currently 3rd quickest Ecotec on the .org - 10.949 @ 131.50 MPH!!!
yea it was put in in 2002-3 for use with egr but i guess they opted not to.
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
