can anyone tell me the part number for the starter relay on a 98 2.2 cav rs is. that part on the radiator support.
i have tried everything else to get the starter to crank with some power so i figure i will try that next.

Dont assume the relay is bad unless you have performd the relay bypass , Jumper connect pin 30 to 87. If you do this and it still doesnt start, then your barking up the wrong tree with the faulty relay.
That is a standard relay that can be bought at any auto parts store, just get the amperage listing off of the old one. Should be a 30a. Single pole or double pole , it doesnt matter.

what is it doing when you go to start it? will the starter drive spin at all? or will the soloniod pop out without it spinning?
how old is the starter itself?
i have a brand new starter, brand new battery cables, alernator, and battery. It will barley crank the car even with a full charge and a jump start, the old starter did the same,
Its not the relay then. Relays work or they dont.
Crank it for like 20 seconds or so, go under the hood, feel the main cables to see if there are any warmer areas than others, especially check the terminal ends for excessive heat. Then hold your hand on the side of the large part of the starter, see if its really warm. Hot spots are caused by higher resistance, (poor connection) which will draw the amperage that is available for the starter to use.
If all of the parts that you changed are good, try this. Pull all of the spark plugs and try to crank it, see if it cranks faster than with them in. It should crank super fast.
This should tell you if its the actual mechanical or electrical timing in the engine that is causing the slow crank or not.
You know you have to try to cover all possibilities when the car isnt in front of me while trying to diagnose it. So im going to ask, When was the last time the timing chain was changed? What is the mileage on it now?

113,000 miles on it, runs like a champ when started, i will have to try everything in the book next day i am off work.
