Ecotec?

Was just wondering if an ecotec motor from a 2003 or newer cavalier would fit in my 98 cavalier without too much of a problem?

if you have an ENTIRE 2003+ cavalier, all the wires, everything that's NOT the actual unibody itself(except of course the wheels, glass, interior etc...) yeah, thats everything thats required to do the swap.

Yeah, what he's saying is you need pretty much everything out of a 2003+ car, engine, transmission, wiring harness, cluster, bcm, most of the car wiring, dash, trans mounts, shift cables, shifter (last 3 for 5 speeds), and other things.

Odds are, the procedure would qualify as "too much of a problem" to most people. I know I've considered it, and that's the conclusion I came to. It's definitely doable though.

the other thing you need to think about is , are you going to keep your 98 headlamps or are you going to swap for the 2003 headlamps .. if you keep your 98 headlamps you will need to rewire them .. Also if you swap from a Auto trans to a Man trans you will need to get the correct trans mounts and weld them in . also you will need to cut out the Auto trans mount or the Man trans will hit it and not bolt up

It's not a hard swap if you know how to work on you car .. the thing is it will take most people a couple of weeks to do ..I've done these swaps now for about three yrs and have it down to about 40 hrs..
