My friend has a 2002 z24 cavi 2.4 twin cam and its running like @!#$ the code reads their is a misfire in cyl.2 any suggestions on what it could be?

have the ignition control module, and coil pack checked. thats what caused mine on my 97

I would try the Ignition Control Module....Had the same problem with my 2002

sorry to bring back up a old post but we changed out the icm, coil packs, spark plugs, fuel filter, cleaned fuel system (rail,injectors,lines) made sure all injectors were working. We even did a compression check on all cylinders. put it back together and it ran good for like 30 sec. then it crapped out again . If any1 knows anything else

Change the plastic coil housing, this should be a part of a tune up but many people dont do it until it causes problems. If you buy a cheap one , get a spare to throw in the trunk because the cheap ones are junk. Your probably looking at $50 for a good one.

^^ what he said, the coil housing tends to go out more often than the rest of the ignition system. It's pretty much happened to everyone with an older 2.4 at least once. Mine did the same thing, either the housing or one of the metel conductors that goes between the coil and plug boot is cracked.
