I put a 2.4 in a 95 z24 and can't get it to continue to run after it starts. It is getting fuel. What can the trouble be?
Does it start and then shut off after 1-2 seconds?

yes it catches, idles for a second and then shuts off.

I don't think it is the battery. Everything worked fine when i started this project. Are the systems for a 2.3 and 2.4 compatible or are there radical wiring differences? I took a 95 body and put a 98 engine and tranny in it. I used the 98's computer and wiring on the engine.

Yes, I did swap the ECU and the theft light stays on the entire time. How do i turn it off? Thank you I will check it out after work.
How do i by-pass the theft system? Why did Chevy make such a stupid option?
It started today and now i can finish working on it. Thank all of you for the help.

The dealership told me that the ECU had to be reset. They told me how to do it and it started right up. It was kind of like putting a code in to turn it on.
So when key on, did your theft light stays on after the fix? I've the same problem and need to start the car asap.
The theft light went out when the car started. Try to start the car. When it starts running and shuts off let the remain in the on position for 10 minutes, turn it off completely. Then do it again and wait the 10 minutes again. On the third try it should start and run.
